Ride Description

Pavegord and Hard Rock will lead TTHOG from Bien Mur KSU 8 AM for a picnic ride to Sugarite Canyon State Park.

Depart Bien Mur on Tramway to I-25 north for the 599 Bypass. Swap to US 84 and head north through Tesuque Pueblo, Cuyamunge, and Pojoaque on US 84/285 north. 1st pit stop at Alon in Ohkay OwIngeh at 81 miles and 1.5 hours in the saddle. As we start our climb into the mountains at Riverside, jump on NM 68 for a scenic ride alongside the Rio Grande to Taos. We head east on US 64 through the mountains for sweeping turns, and a few twisties to Eagle Nest. Continue east on US 64 thru Cimmaron Canyon State Park as we drop out of the mountains to the plains. Pit stop in Cimmaron at Valero 96 miles from the Alon, last chance to pick up picnic supplies. Next, a quick 6.5 mile leg to arrive at Sugarite Canyon State Park, Lake Alice Picnic site about 1 PM for a picnic lunch. Rest rooms 0.2 miles N of the picnic area. Return as desired on your own, or in groups with a pit stop in Raton and Las Vegas on your way home. I will depart at 2 PM down I-25 to Las Vegas for pit stop, then will drop off at Clines Corners to US 285/NM-41, to home, arrive about 530 PM.

Open Event: This event is open to Chapter members, National H.O.G. members and other guests as desired.  All riders and passengers must sign a release. 

Impairment Policy: The consumption and use of alcohol is a serious personal responsibility involving the safety of family, riding friends and the individual HOG member. Alcohol consumption before or during a motorcycling activity is not safe, responsible behavior. Turquoise Trail Chapter #2015 does not allow the use of alcohol or drugs before or during a riding event* and does not furnish alcohol at Chapter rides. Riders whose skills are observed or suspected to be impaired by alcohol or drugs before riding cannot join the ride. Riders using alcohol or drugs while riding will be asked to leave the ride. It is the responsibility of each Template Chapter member to support the consistent enforcement of this policy
