Day one: October 18, 2024, The Pit Stop Laguna Burger opens at 6:00am, so you can get there early for a tasty breakfast before our 8:30am KSU. (Exit 140 off of 1-40) From there, Matt Morales will lead us west on 1-40 for 119 miles mak ing our way to Gallup, for our first gas stop at the Shell station.

After a brief stop, we will turn onto 491 and head north for 92 miles to Shiprock for another gas stop and lunch. As some of you may know, Shiprock does not have many sit-down restaurants choices, so you can grab a bite to eat at the following: Taco Bell, McDonalds, Sonic, KFC or Burger King. After you have filled your bellies, we will continue north for 32 mile and make a stop at The Four Corners Monument which marks the quadripoint in the Southwestern United States where the states of Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, and Utah meet. It is the only point in the United States shared by four states, leading to the area being named the Four Corners region. Be advised that there is an entry fee of $8 per person (no park passes accepted).  Here you will have a photo opportunity to try and place yourself in all corners to say you have been in four places at once.

After everyone has their photos, we will continue north for 41 more miles to Cortez, Colorado where we will be stay at the Retro Inn. This is a very unique retro hotel with different themed rooms from Elvis to motorcycles. Once here, you can relax, socialize or try your luck playing at the giant chess board out front. There is a Destination Grill and a Denny’s right next door to the hotel, or you can walk a couple of blocks to the Shiloh Steakhouse and Tequila Mexican Restaurants.

October 19, 2024: After finishing with your continental breakfast, KSU will be 8:30 a.m. and we will make a quick gas stop at the City Market before leaving town. Will Fetner will lead us west starting with US160/US491 and a few other highways for 90 miles, we will make a brief stop prior to getting to Mexican Hat, Utah for the Harley Davidson Ride 365 challenge photo-op. We will then continue onto Mexican Hat to make a fuel stop at the Exxon gas station, from there we will go another 21 more miles to Navajo Nation’s Monument Valley. The entrance fee is $8.00 per person. The park is one of the most majestic and most photographed points on earth. This great valley boasts sandstone masterpieces that tower at heights of 400 to 1,000 feet, framed by scenic clouds casting shadows that graciously roam the desert floor. The angle of the sun accents these graceful formations, providing scenery that is simply spellbinding.

There will be a brief pull out at an overlook for photos and we will head to the visitor center and Goulding Trading Post and Museum. Here you will be able to visit the museum, take photos, pick up your souvenirs and grab a bite for lunch. There is the View Restaurant right next door or you can eat at the Goulding Stagecoach dining room located in the trading post. After everyone is done shopping and eating (approximately 1-1 1/2 hour break), we will continue for another 125 miles to Page, Arizona to the Sleep Inn and Suites. While here, if there is time, you can visit Lake Powell, Horseshoe Bend and surrounding area or take a dip in the indoor pool and hot tub.
